This project is an ongoing conversation with the Buller community over the next three years to plan how we can best adapt to the changing climate.

What’s most important throughout this process, is landing on adaptation pathways that we agree will work best for your community, now and in the future.

There are two key outcomes from this project.

  • 1: Understanding the climate risks to Buller

What climate hazards will impact you and your community now or in 50 years?

Some examples of climate hazards could be landslides, flooding, or increased temperatures.

We are using the best available science together with consideration of uncertainty to look at likely climate change impacts.

We want to know your thoughts about the risks from climate change and what you think should be done.

  • 2: Planning our options for the future

What are the options for now and in the future based on the risks of climate change?

When do we need to take action and what options are best for you and your community?

We want to know your thoughts about the different options to adapt to climate change and what you think is the best pathway moving forward.
